Warner Bros. moves up release of ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ to March

Of course, it's possible WB doesn't have much faith in Godzilla vs. Kong taking advantage of that Memorial Day weekend slot, but the first footage from the movie is definitely impressive.

Warner Bros and Legendary are coming up with a new monster film titled Godzilla Vs Kong.

Godzilla vs. Kong, also, would premiere in the space reserved for The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to The Sopranos that recently had its premiere postponed from March to September 24.

The movie will release simultaneously on HBO Max and in theaters. Given the figures for Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984, and the circumstances in which the films still have to be released (with multiple cinemas closed or with capacity restrictions), it seems that the majors have no choice but to delay their releases again, but curiously this time it has not been the case of Warner Bros., in a surprising move, it has chose to advance one of its films.

Godzilla vs. Kong Do Battle Two Months Early, On 26 March

As you can see in the newly released HBO Max promo below, the two iconic beast are going to war!

We don't have a trailer yet for Godzilla vs. Kong, but it's probably safe to expect one to arrive in the near future. The upcoming film is directed by Adam Wingard and penned by both Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein. That was followed three years later in 2017 by Kong: Skull Island, which reintroduced King Kong to a modern audience. The movie was initially slated to release in June 2020, but the release was delayed because of the ongoing health crisis. The film is set to star Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry.

That new strategy had been a sticking point with production company Legendary Entertainment, which financed the majority of Godzilla vs. Kong's budget and was reportedly blindsided by Warner's shift to streaming releases.
