Rihanna suing her father for using trademarked Fenty for his own use

Specifically, RiRi's attorneys claim that her father, Ronald Fenty, and his business partner, Moses Joktan Perkins, "have egregiously and fraudulently misrepresented to third parties and the public that their company, Fenty Entertainment, LLC, is affiliated with Rihanna, and has the authority to act on her behalf". The singer claims her father and his business partner have falsely promoted themselves as her rep and gained millions of dollars in the process.

There's only one Fenty you want to work with in the entertainment industry, and Rihanna is making sure her father doesn't scam anyone else into thinking it's him.

The 30-year-old singer says in the lawsuit that she has used the name for her cosmetics brand and other businesses since 2012. However, the pop star has her own trademark on the Fenty name, most famously aligned with her Fenty Beauty products, and she has no connection to her father's company (via TMZ). In court documents, she states that her father and his partner tried to book her for 15 shows in Latin America in December 2017 for $15M - even though she never gave them any sort of authorization.

She has claimed Ronald alleged to have ran the business offers past her label Roc Nation but Roc Nation allege Ronald never spoke to them.

She also says that last August, Fenty and Perkins tried to trademark the phrase "Fenty" for a line of boutique hotels with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, but were unsuccessful. She has requested an injunction against her father to stop using the Fenty name, as well as unspecified damages.

In 2008 his drunken behavior on her tour bus saw him kicked off the tour, and in 2013 she paid for him to go through rehab.
