Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the Congress of neglecting the defence sector and claimed that for the Opposition party it was only about brokering deals, PTI reported.

Reacting sharply to frequent allegations that Centre has given Andhra Pradesh a step-motherly treatment, Modi informed the gathering of all the schemes and money that Centre gave to Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will sit on a day-long fast with his ministerial colleagues and party lawmakers in New Delhi on Monday to protest against alleged "injustice" done to his state by denying special category status, officials in his office said.

He said a defence corridor will bring industry and investment options and opportunities for the State's youth. "They say the Modi government is a failure", he said. "We will never deprive any state of what it deserves and in case of Andhra Pradesh, we are fulfilling one by one all the provisions made in Andhra Pradesh state re-organisation act", said Modi.

"Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, as they visit other parts of India".

PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of projects worth Rs 4,000 crore and a dedicated Doordarshan channel named "DD Arun Prabha" to Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

Then, he will lay the foundation stone for setting up a new terminal of Bharat Petroleum Corp. Mr. Modi referred to freedom fighters including Tirupur Kumaran for their sacrifices. He also lauded a Jain guru for his peace initiatives.

The strong public reaction from the Chinese government came despite the leaders of two countries, PM Modi and President Xi Jinping, having met four times past year, most recently on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in Buenos Aires in December.

Farmers representatives presented him a silver coconut for announcing the maximum support price for copra.

"Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to lay foundation of a six-lane bridge over river Brahmaputra connecting Guwahati with North Guwahati and kick off construction work of AIIMS at Changsari near Guwahati".

Mr. Modi had in the recent past held a slew of video conferences based interactions with party workers of Tamil Nadu.
