Meghan in secret NYC trip for baby shower

The Duchess is now in New York City for a short stay with close friends, and those friends are expected to throw Meghan a baby shower today before she returns to the United Kingdom on Wednesday.

The Duchess spent time with her close friend, Jessica Mulroney, on Saturday at one of Meghan's favourite NY restaurants, Ladurée where they were able to privately dine on macarons and tea.

'You know when you meet someone and you just click?' said Markle.

It was the first trip back for the royal, who is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry in two months, since her royal wedding on May 19. We've managed to keep in touch via email and text, and try to see each other whenever we're both in the same town'.

The exclusive party will reportedly take place at a hotel on the Upper East Side with Mulroney taking charge of co-ordinating everything. She went full Carmen Sandiego-chic while trying to evade the paparazzi in Manhattan, wearing a newsboy cap and a longline coat, and even carrying a wide-brimmed hat for extra coverage. Guests include best pal Jessica Mulroney, actress and close pal Abigail Spencer has flown in and Priyanka Chopra is supposed to be flying in especially for this from London Fashion Week.

About 15 guests are expected to attend the baby shower planned for Tuesday (local time), Harper's Bazaar reports, and Meghan arrived on Friday (local time) for five nights of fun and relaxation with girlfriends. Her hair was styled out and she wore "Nearly Skinny Maternity" jeans by Hatch Maternity, beige heels and held a matching bag by Carolina Herrera.

The duo visited Laduree in SoHo over the weekend before heading shopping for some baby clothes.

Meghan won't have that much time in NY, however, as she and her husband Prince Harry are scheduled to make a trip to Morocco from February 23 to February 25. In the letter, dated in August, Meghan begged her father to stop speaking to the press. He called out journalists in an interview with Australia's Who Magazine last week.

Prince William - who has been married to Duchess Catherine since 2011 - explained: "The fear of having a newborn baby, that's very vulnerable and that's what you spend most of your time worrying about, thinking what do I do?" The only way to see real progress is not by chance, it's by change'.
