Adducci has placed $100,000 bet that Woods will win the grand slam, at 100 to 1 odds.

This week's British Masters is only Westwood's sixth tournament of the season, a combination of choosing to play less and narrowly failing to qualify for the "other" Masters for the second year in succession.

Tiger Woods (R) of the United States smiles after being awarded the Green Jacket by Masters champion Patrick Reed (L) in 2019.

Koepka and Woods have developed a close rivalry at the majors, with Koepka heading a 1-2 finish at the PGA at Bellerive before Woods turned the tables at Augusta, where he clinched his 15th major title. He will be the first golfer to use a cart at a major tournament since Casey Martin used one at the 2012 U.S. Open.

The PGA Championship kicked off this morning with practice rounds.

With the golf world wondering if he has enough high-level golf in him to match Mr. Nicklaus' record of 18 majors, Mr. Woods left a clue as to his aspirations, calling his recent Masters experience "certainly one of the highest that I've accomplished so far in my life on the golf course".

With a new spring date, a thrilling venue in Bethpage Black, and the return of Tiger-mania, it's happy hour for the PGA of America. The two-time major champion is good at drawing a crowd on his own, whether it's for his "grip it and rip it" drives or his colorful clothing choices. I am backing him with confidence. It was his third major of his career.

Adducci told Golf Digest he placed the bet because of Woods' track record at the upcoming major courses. I disagree. I think if a major is held at a course that fits Bubba's game he can win a major other than the Masters.

"The unbelievable Masters experience I just had a few weeks ago certainly is part of the highlight of what I've accomplished in my life on the golf course".
