Dwight Howard traded by Wizards to Grizzlies

Dwight Howard will be playing for another National Basketball Association team next season.

The Washington Wizards have traded center Dwight Howard to the Memphis Grizzlies for forward CJ Miles, a person familiar with the situation said.

The Dwight Howard era in Washington is reportedly coming to an end, as the former All-Star big man has reportedly been traded.

According to a report from The Athletic, the Wizards will waive Howard.

National Basketball Association insider Adrian Wojnarowski has confirmed the move. The deal saves Memphis $3.1 million. Howard hasn't been the same player since he requested a trade from the Orlando Magic.

The Grizzlies will still owe Bradley $2 million next season.

The 33-year-old Howard had spent the 2018-19 season with the Wizards, appearing in just nine games before a glute injury ended his season.

In honor of the most recent roster move by interim team President, Tommy Sheppard and owner Ted Leonsis, it's only right that we look back on Howard's brief, but interesting, time with the team. He averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds while shooting 62.3 percent from the field.

The Wizards signed Howard to a two-year deal last summer.
