Now, a rep has confirmed to TMZ that the cause of death was a heart attack following a brief hospital stint.

We're told Chuy went to the ER with a Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage (GI Bleed) and after complications, he suffered the fatal heart attack.

Chuy Bravo, most widely known for their role on 'Chelsea Lately, ' died Sunday early morning.

"Bravo's family is devastated as they cope with this sudden loss", the statement continued.

Page Six reports that a funeral was held on Monday along with a memorial service is planned for a later date in Los Angeles.
