Tina Fey Gets Emotional Over Donation Amount For COVID-19 Telethon

The hour-long "Rise Up New York!" event was presented by actress Tina Fey, who was emotional as she unveiled the figure at the end of the program.

A celebrity virtual telethon organized to help NY charities assisting those hit by the coronavirus pandemic on Monday raised $115 million in pledges. The 5-Octave angel doesn't perform "Through The Rain" very often, but it needs to be re-added to her live show pronto.

According to BillboardRobin Hood said all donations will provide support for food, housing, cash assistance, mental health, legal services and education.

While Fey clearly knew that the fundraiser had achieved its goal of raking in donations, it was clear she had not predicted how successful when the total - a whopping $115 million - appeared on screen and she quietly asked, "Is this real?" "You did this, we are difference makers", a stunned Fey said as she was nearly immediately brought to tears.

"115 million dollars-what a great day for NY", she continued while tearing up.

"We can make it through this together", Carey said.

Spike Lee shared encouraging words that sports would return someday soon.

New York Giants greats including Strahan, Eli Manning, Phil Simms and Justin Tuck announced an opportunity through a sweepstakes for one fan to play a game of touch football with the players in their own backyard and get a Super Bowl ring.

Other musical performances included Sting's "Message in a Bottle" and Bon Jovi's "It's My Life".

"The counting of confirmed and probable COVID-19-associated deaths might not include deaths among persons with SARS-CoV-2 infection who did not access diagnostic testing, tested falsely negative, or became infected after testing negative, died out- side of a health care setting, or for whom COVID-19 was not suspected by a health care provider as a cause of death", the CDC said.
