Latest NHL results show two positive tests

The NHL announced on Monday afternoon that they have received two positive COVID-19 tests out of a total of 2,618 tests administered over a five-day stretch between July 13-17.

Phase 2 of the NHL's return-to-play plan ran from June 8 to July 12 and allowed players to skate together in small groups at team facilities.

The league kicked off training camps July 13th and between that day and the 17th, 2,618 tests were conducted on over 800 players.

The NHL says that they won't be providing information on the players that tested positive or the clubs they belong to.

Both players who tested positive have self-isolated and are following CDC and Health Canada protocols.

The two players, who were not identified, are self-isolating.

The Hawks take on the St. Louis Blues in an exhibition game on July 29, then begin their best-of-five qualifying round series with the Edmonton Oilers on August 1.

Phase 4 of the NHL's return-to-play plan begins on August 1 with the Stanley Cup Qualifiers followed by four rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
