LG dials up the brightness on its 2021 mid-range OLED TVs

To recap, the 2021 C1 series OLED TVs will come in 48in, 55in, 65in, 77in and 83in sizes. Going through the somewhat vague press release, it seems there would be at least five models of OLED TVs available in 2021, including the Z1, G1, C1, B1, and A1. The new G1-series models use new panel technology called "OLED evo" with a new "luminous element" that's created to improve brightness along with clarity and resolution, LG announced at CES 2021.

We don't have specific model numbers of supported television sets just yet, but if you have one of LG's newer OLED sets, you can expect support for Stadia.

In addition to existing 88-, 77-, 65-, 55- and 48-inch OLED panels, the company said it will mass-produce 83- and 42-inch OLED displays from this year. Note the 2021 series is now "model.1" - 2020 was CX, GX, ZX etc. Alessi also referred to OLED Evo as "our most advanced panel and processor". The new processor claims to use deep learning algorithms to upscale content and has a feature called AI Picture Pro, which can recognize objects such as faces and bodies as well as the foreground and background in the image.

LG is the world's largest OLED TV panel maker.

Created to pair perfectly with the new OLED TV models, LG's latest soundbars are another demonstration of the company's environmentally-conscious approach to manufacturing. Also getting an update is the Magic Remote, which will let users tap it to mirror from their smartphone to their TV, or vice versa.

The latest LG UltraFine display revealed at CES 2021 uses USB-C, Display Port and HDMI for video connection. Rather than optimise gaming traffic over the web, LG's Game Optimiser aims to cut game response down to one millisecond, and supports PC gaming graphics technologies such as Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.

LG OLED TVs are also easy on the eyes, without compromising picture quality.

LG also announced that it is updating webOS with a brand new interface this year. LG is aiming for a launch sometime in the second half of the year.
